Dr Upul Mahawattha , graduated from the University of Peradenyia Si Lanka in 2005. Upul located to Australia in 2012 where he commenced work at the Regional NSW Armidale Hospital Emergency and Medical Department as a senior medical officer . Upul underwent specialist GP training and became a fellow with RACGP .He has extensive experience in GP local and overseas and emergency medicine. Upul lives with his wife and son .
He has a special interest in antenatal/pregnancy( Shared care ) and post natal mother and baby care, nutrition- Iorn infusion and weight management through health promotion and medication , occupational health –Re hab and work cover and Q fever vaccination , travel medicine including yellow fever vaccination, preventive medicine- care plans , mental health, adolescent/mens health,sexual health checks and prevention – prEP - HIV prophylaxis , contraception- Implanon- arm rod insertion.
